graphic recording means a graphic recording of what is happening. in practice, the term visual recording or live scribing is often used. a visual protocol is created during a graphic recording. this can be created in an analog form over a large area on several square meters of paper or in digital form. the creation of the progress log is created during the event.

as preparation, i am very happy to talk to the client in advance by phone or on site. It's important to understand what kind of impact you want to have with the audience and how the drawings will be deployed or used. the graphic recorder is present as a listener during the event, workshop, panel discussion or event and records everything that happens live. at the end, the visual log shows the core messages, contexts and sometimes also the chronology, as well as pictures of the mood or audience reactions. the graphic recorder can often present a summary at the end of the event and review the day visually.

a graphic recording draws the attention of the target audience and accompanies the participants visually as the big picture is created. the combination of hearing and seeing (illustrations on the graphic recording) achieves effective and lasting information transfer to the audience.

participants often stand in front of the picture during the breaks or at the end of the event and let the day's effect on them again through the pictures. this creates a kind of reflection phase and the participants discuss the visualizations and their topics. when an event is held without graphic recording, the participants say goodbye, take only a fraction of the information with them and very little or no reflection is given on it.

With a graphic recording you inspire your audience and your customers by making visible what is spoken/heard. the illustrations on the graphic enable simplified and understandable communication with images. the main messages of the lecture or discussion can be recorded and anchored. a networking of several topics and a basis for clarifications and discussions are further advantages of graphic recording.

in short, a graphic recording helps to inspire the audience, to convey information in a sustainable way and offers a very good basis for further discussions and clarifications.

graphic recording can be used in a wide variety of events: product presentations, panel discussions, lectures, forums, events, workshops, information events, strategy or team development workshops, etc.

after a graphic recording, the images can be used to continue topics, communication and refreshers. in the case of recurring events (e.g. annually), the images can also be used for the invitations to the subsequent event in order to immediately awaken memories of the previous event.

the amount of information and the need for exchange has never been greater than today. however, the complexity in which we often find ourselves can no longer only be represented with text or language. It is extremely difficult to convince employees, customers, suppliers, investors and other stakeholders of your own topics, products or strategies using only text and speech.

Visualizations and illustrations can provide orientation and have a very supportive effect in anchoring topics in a comprehensible and sustainable manner. illustrations have the power to simplify complex issues and to positively address the audience.

it is a design element with a wide range of applications that can be used in different areas and topics.

Images, illustrations or individual graphic elements leave a lasting impression on most people and are easier to store and reproduce. it starts with the first contact with the information - the attention is many times higher than with pure text or spoken information. Complex topics can often be presented in a simplified way and the networking, structure or composition of a complete system can be explained better.

illustrations can be used in a wide variety of areas:

Company photos, strategy photos, idea illustrations, books and book covers, magazines, advertising posters, training documents, brochures, key visuals, illustrated maps, storyboards, explanatory videos, product presentations, operating instructions, icons, logos, clipart, graphics, ....

visual facilitating is visual moderation. a visual facilitator supports and promotes the visual accompaniment of workshops to promote efficient and creative solutions.

Initial situations, content and the results obtained are recorded in pictures on flipcharts. this enables the group to conduct discussions more precisely and efficiently and to create a common picture from the initial situation to the possible solution. in addition to the visual recording, the visual facilitator supports goal-oriented work in the group with the right methods and questions. the visual facilitator combines the role of a facilitator (moderator) and a graphic recorder (drawer).
